Gigantic by Loneanimator Gigantic by Loneanimator
Color version of a 2017 Facebook Inktober challenge piece. Kind of a tribute to 1970's eco-horror.

I'm not ashamed to admit that my response to this particular image was an absolutely humiliating squeal of horror - not a big fan of Giant Amphibian Horrors (since they have all the creepy not-Mammal/not-Avian traits of reptiles AND slimy skin to boot) and Man-eaters are at the very top of my Hit List.Oops!

On a less wimpy note, might I suggest TOAD HELL (HELL TOAD?) as title for this particular Creature Feature? (with "They came looking for a day's fishing - they croaked" as a tagline; actually CROAKED might be a possible title or subtitle for the "movie" now I think on it).

So either "They came looking for fish - instead they found TOAD HELL!" or "In the bright light of a March morning they went looking for a day's sport - and then they CROAKED" would be a possibility (until and unless you come up with something better for the poster yourself).

When that avalanche of animal horror novels followed James Herbert's "The Rats" I think there actually was a book called "Croak", about a giant tadpole.

Looked it up: Yes, the book is written by a Robin Evans.

... a giant TADPOLE? Really? (on the one hand the sequel hook is obvious, but given we're dealing with a Giant Tadpole one has to wonder if the author isn't being a tad over-optimistic in assuming they'll be able to publish one - tadpoles are, all in all, not especially intimidating to look at and lack that "One UGLY mother" creepiness inherent to a fully-grown toad).

Put another way, a Giant Tadpole isn't a feature it's a Cold Open!

(By the way, an idea for a sequel to CROAKED/TOAD HELL* has occurred to me; I was reminded that at least some toads secrete a chemical sufficiently hallucinogenic for a certain sort of maniac to deliberately lick them - imagine if exactly that sort of maniac discovered a Giant Toad and started up a production line selling the latest high ... the title? CROAKED II: HOPPED UP of course!).

*You may be wondering where this particular name came from, to which I can only reply "The Wind in the Willows."

The funny thing was they were hunting normal frogs to eat, and than someone try to roll to catch a big one. Needless to said the got a 20.

Not SO bad. All you need is some other bigger monster, like the Colossal Man or Ginormica --with A BAT.

Reminds me of the movie Frogs with Sam Elliott and Ray Milland. Makes me wish this was how the movie ended :D

When I saw Frogs when I was a kid I was really disappointed that the critters weren't huge, like the poster teased.

Don't mess with Mother Nature! Love the super toad, and those bio waste drums and foul green water add to the piece. Wink/Razz Who would want to go fishing there, anyway? ;) (Wink)

And they're not giant frogs, except for the one on the movie poster, so it's a cheat.
