The Doctor's Guardian by Loneanimator The Doctor's Guardian by Loneanimator
Doctor Who's first producer, Verity Lambert, has gone down in history as a remarkable woman for many reasons.

Very cool, but here's the thing for me: In the original "classic" Who the music was very sparse, and was used to create moods, mostly creepiness. Eventually, from the Peter Davison era and onwards the music usually turned into a series of electronic farts, which became the subject of parody in various TV and radio shows. But prior to that the music was mostly very good indeed.
Murray Gold has gone in the direction of epic instead, which is fine here and there, but not for everything. I would've preferred a cold electronic Kraftwerk score for the Daleks.

The making of the first season of Doctor Who is a great story. Have you seen the BBC drama "An Adventure In Time and Space", which is about the first Doctor and the people who worked on his shows? It's great stuff!

Nope, this is the very first producer of Doctor Who. But she worked with the Doctor's granddaughter, you could say :)

They kind of had the same hairstyle (for a while), but Verity Lambert was much taller than "Susan", Carole Ann Ford.

(This will piss off the Jodie haters)
I think Verity would've been proud
of the writers who decided to have the
Doctor regenerate into a woman and
have the lore justify that happening.

With Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor, I think the show will only change marginally, if anything at all. Having the Doctor become a woman is only a skin-deep change, unless the writers choose to focus on the character being a woman, which I think would be a bad decision. Whittaker is a good actor, period. I hope that's why she was hired.

A wonderful tribute to the woman who fought to bring us the longest running science fiction show ever.

I think she, more than anything else, is the reason Doctor Who got made, and still is made.

If you haven't already seen it I suggest watching 'An Adventure in Space and Time'.  It's all about the creation of Doctor Who, including the critical part that Verity played.

She was and still is the best producer ever in Doctor Who. Plus she was alive to see the show back on it's feet right when the show came back in 2005. A nice treat if I don't say so myself. :)

Yes, that must've been a wonderful thing; to see the show rise from its ashes and become as big a success as it ever was.
